This painting goes home with a new collector. It moved me so much when I framed it and had a last look. It reminded me so strongly about the time I had spend in the very north of Denmark with fellow painter Susanne Mull. Magic light, magic soul time.

Last week I finished the painting »The glow of copper roofs«. It goes without saying that this is one of the most beautiful views Hamburg has to offer. Now it has to dry completely before I put on the varnish.

Set goals, go for it and then just enjoy living and stop worrying. You alone are responsible for the colors that fill your blank canvas of life. No one else.
I want to thank all the people who bought a painting of mine, attended a workshop, came to my exhibitions or touched my life. Thank you.
After this exhibition, I (again) am surprised how big the difference is between viewing and judging a painting in the internet and seeing it as an original in an exhibition.
I think the people tend to forget that there is no such neutral viewing through internet and print media. Probably over 90% of how we look at paintings, are over smart phones/ tablets and computers. But there isn’t a single one that can accurately achieve the likeness of a painting. The instant we see the picture the opinion has formed and is set in stone. But you can’t depict the color nuances, brush strokes, how pigments glow and the size of a painting and the impact it will have on you, if watched via Smart phone or print media.
My advice: Go to as many exhibitions as possible and see with your own eyes the difference it can make.

Last winter I went back to Hamburg in the freezing cold to catch a glimpse of the icing, before it was all gone. I just love the sound when one of the Alster boats cracks the ice open.
